The favicon is the very small image that is displayed to the left of the URL in your browser address bar. Some browsers also save the favicon in your bookmarks.
Mambo comes with a Mambo favicon installed. It is called favicon.ico and is located in your images folder. As Mambo is coded to look in the images folder for the favicon, this is the location you must use when you create your own favicon image.
This type of image is usually not able to be created by image creation software (unless it includes an icon function) as you MUST use an image with of the .ico type. There are several ways you can create your own custom favicon though.
Creating favicons with Adobe Photoshop and GoLive If you have Adobe GoLive and Photoshop, this method gives you excellent control over your finished icon.
You can also create an image in Photoshop and use an online icon maker to convert it to .ico. If you do this, use a high resolution image to get good definition when your favicon is created. The standard size for a favicon is 16 x 16 pixels.
If you don't have image creation software, you can always use an image that you like and create an icon from it. Images should be square for best results.

So, just create the favicon you want to use on your site and copy it to your images folder. It will overwrite the existing favicon.ico. You may need to clear your browser cache before you see it on your site.
