Fantastico is an autoinstaller for cPanel servers. Fantastico gives even novice users the ability to quickly install Mambo and dozens of other open source web content scripts into their web space with very little experience or knowledge required. The installation procedure takes seconds and can be performed by novices without the need of setting up MySQL databases, importing structure, chmoding files and without the need of other tasks usually associated with installations.

Keep in mind that Fantastico works to its own schedule for providing updates to web hosts that offer cPanel server control panels. Fantastico does not update at the same time as the individual scripts get updated. Further, hosts may choose not to update their Fantastico at all - so it is possible that some Fantastico scripts may be very out of date.

Always use the latest stable release of Mambo. Before running an install through Fantastico it is always advisable to check whether the version that is offered is actually the latest stable release. If it is not offering the latest Mambo, do a manual install.
